Caressa Kruth, CSW-Associate
 

Caressa has over 15 years’ experience working with vulnerable populations in various capacities. She earned a master’s in social work in 2013 from Arizona State University. She has since served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nicaragua, a mental health therapist working with children, youth, and adults, and managed various programs at a community health center in Oregon with a focus on ensuring equitable access to health care services.  
 

Caressa is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness practices, Trauma informed Care, suicide prevention, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment. She uses these interventions along with an emphasis on person in environment perspective as well as solutions focused and task focused approaches to help clients work through difficult issues to produce change. She has experience working with children, youth, and families in both individual and family therapy. She enjoys working with a variety of clients from various backgrounds and life experiences. Most of her experience has focused on addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and suicidal ideation.  
 

Caressa is bilingual and provides therapy services in English and Spanish. She was raised in South and Central America from age 4 to junior year in high school. She is fluent in Spanish and has cultural understanding and appreciation. She considers herself to be of a third culture, not fully belonging to her parents’ home country and not fully belonging to the countries she was raised in. She has found her life experience and resulting perspective to help her connect with the immigrant community in Oregon.  
 

In her free time, Caressa enjoys spending time with her family and connecting with her community. 
 

Licenses and Certifications

 

Caressa completed her Master of Social Work degree at Arizona State University. She has passed her licensure exam and is currently finalizing her hours towards licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Her LCSW supervisor is Lucrecia Suárez, LCSW.
