Licenses and Certifications

 

Nuvia is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and adheres to the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists' Code of Ethics. Furthermore, to be able to continue improving her knowledge and counseling skills, she reports 40 hours of Continuing Education (CE) to the OBLPCT.

Additionally, Nuvia is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State,  and a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor I (CADC I).

Nuvia Chávez-Téllez, LPC, CADC I

Nuvia holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University. She is bilingual-bicultural and provides therapy services in English and Spanish. She has worked with families and youth in the foster care system, as well as in both residential and community mental health settings. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in family and individual counseling.
 

Nuvia uses different therapeutic methods, not limited to, solution-focused, cognitive/behavioral skills, dialectical behavioral skills, expressive arts techniques, and narrative and supportive therapy, to tailor services to individuals’ mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing.  Nuvia will also provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment.
