Anne is passionate about uplifting others and her community, and believes that the therapeutic journey taken by the client and counselor is an integral part of that. She has professional experience in psychological first aid for people experiencing disasters/crises as well as individuals with military service-related PTSD. She also has experience in advocating for and stabilizing houseless individuals, those with substance use disorders, and individuals who have been recently disenrolled from incarceration.
Anne is a current graduate student at Eastern Oregon University where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Anne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Portland State University and a Master’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific University.
Anne began her career in restaurant management, but the call to serve others was very strong, so in 2009 she began a year of service with AmeriCorps in disaster relief/education and military outreach at the American Red Cross. She continued to serve as a volunteer disaster responder covering 4 counties of Oregon for the next six years. Anne has a passion for supporting nonprofit work and her community, and has spent the majority of her career post-AmeriCorps in social service and nonprofit work. Anne’s counseling work is rooted in relational cultural theory and trauma-informed care, and her focus is on serving the mental health needs of marginalized populations. She employs techniques and/or treatment plans that stem from other counseling modalities such as cognitive behavioral processing, storytelling and visual mapping, acceptance and commitment therapy, and more.
Anne’s goal is to walk alongside her clients as they find or deepen their sense of meaning in life, and navigate their mental health journeys.
