Elisa Miranda Can

Elisa Miranda Can, PCA
Ellie is a trauma-informed therapist who offers a supportive, culturally responsive space where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered. As a woman of color, she is committed to honoring each client’s unique cultural identity and lived experience, creating an environment where people feel safe to show up as they are.
Ellie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from
Multnomah University.
Her work is grounded in a relational approach, meaning she believes healing happens through safe, meaningful connection. She views the therapeutic relationship as an important space where clients can begin to understand how past experiences and relationships have shaped the way they feel, think, and relate to others. Within a warm and collaborative environment, she supports clients in exploring these patterns with curiosity and compassion, while developing new ways of relating to themselves and others. She also takes an emotion-focused approach to therapy, helping clients slow down and deepen awareness of their internal experiences. She supports clients in exploring and making sense of their emotions without judgment, recognizing
that emotions hold important information about needs, past experiences, and patterns. This process helps clients build emotional awareness, increase self-understanding, and feel more grounded in their day-to-day lives. She integrates psychodynamic approaches with trauma-informed care, while also drawing from somatic practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her approach is tailored to each client’s needs, supporting them in processing difficult emotions, building resilience, and
creating meaningful, lasting change.
As a Spanish-speaking therapist, she is dedicated to providing culturally and linguistically responsive care. She recognizes the importance of being able to express oneself fully in one’s preferred language and understands how cultural background can shape vulnerability, healing, and connection. She strives to create a space where clients feel genuinely understood and valued, supporting them in developing greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of confidence and hope.
