Heidy Bywaters Noriega, QMHI​

Heidy Bywaters Noriega is a social worker and graduate student at Portland State University with expertise in crisis intervention and suicide prevention. She has extensive experience in community-based mental health, supporting high-risk youth and families through collaborative problem-solving and culturally responsive care.

Her work blends case management, harm reduction, advocacy, and cognitive behavioral tools, alongside group training and facilitation. She is also deeply interested in advancing policy change, supporting immigrant communities, and exploring evidence-based and emerging modalities such as EMDR. Heidy brings a strengths-based approach grounded in compassion, resilience, and cultural humility.
