Jerry James, QMHP
Jerry James is a Mexican QMHP and American Associate Marriage and Family therapist (MFT) who earned his Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University San Marcos. He has many years of experience working with children, adults, and families in both residential and clinical settings.
Jerry is passionate about serving underrepresented groups, including children of immigrants, the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and neurodivergent individuals. Jerry has provided individual and group therapy in addition to case management for individuals with neurodevelopmental and physical disabilities.
He has worked most often with Autism, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, and the schizophrenia spectrum. His preferred modalities include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and client-centered therapy and trauma-informed care. He believes in carefully tailoring his treatment approach based on clients’ needs and believes therapy should be a collaborative, secure place.
