Julia Perez, QMHP
 

Julia was born in El Paso, Tx but raised in Mexico. She moved to El Paso when she was 15 and has lived in the US since then. She got her Bachelor's Degree at The University of Texas at El Paso in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Moved to San Diego, CA to attend College for her M.A in Psychology at National University. For her internship, she worked at a mental institution called Alvarado Parkway Institute.
 

Since graduation, she has worked treating sex offenders while on parole, she has been a mobile crisis counselor and an EASA therapist. She feels proud to have served many different populations with different psychological problems.

 

Julia likes to use different modalities with her clients, depending on the issue. She likes psychoanalysis and CBT. She would say her biggest strength in her ability to empathize with clients. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization) therapy.
 

In her free time, Julia likes to be with her dogs and play or watch a sport. She loves animals, and one of her goals is to open a shelter for street dogs and cats.
