Mario Dixon, QMHI​

Mario Dixon is completing his final year of the Master of Social Work program at Portland State University and is excited to begin his advanced clinical practicum with Barcelona Counseling. Mario brings experience working with individuals across the lifespan in community-based, behavioral health, housing, and care coordination settings.

​

His approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and person-centered. Mario values creating a supportive space where individuals feel seen, respected, and empowered to make their own choices. He is especially interested in helping people navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, identity, relationships, and other difficult experiences while building on their existing strengths and resilience.

Mario believes meaningful clinical work begins with genuine connection, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique experiences. As he continues developing as a clinical social worker, he looks forward to supporting clients in identifying their goals, strengthening their autonomy, and creating meaningful change in their lives.

Outside of work and graduate school, Mario enjoys traveling, building LEGO sets, hiking, watching movies, and reading.
