Nicole Gonzalez
Nicole was born in Queens, New York, and later made Oregon her home. She’s the proud daughter of Central American parents (her father from Guatemala and her mother from Costa Rica) and holds dual citizenship as a Costa Rican-American. Her cultural roots have shaped her deep appreciation for connection, understanding, and compassion in all areas of her life. When she’s not working, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband playing video games and watching anime. She’s also a proud corgi mom to Bubbles, who never fails to bring joy and laughter. Some goals she hopes to accomplish in the near future are learning Japanese or Portuguese, visiting Japan or Brazil, and music theory to support her singing experience.
For more than eight years, Nicole has dedicated her career to supporting youth, families, and communities through her work in nonprofit and faith-based organizations. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Warner Pacific University and has served in both leadership and administrative roles.
Nicole’s passion for mental health began when she was in high school and grew when she attended college while working for Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland. She later led mental health workshops during her college internship for her home church to bring awareness to families and help validate the experiences of youth. Joining Barcelona Counseling has been a highlight in her career, giving her the opportunity to continue sharing her skills while learning and growing in the field of mental health and administrative support.
Known for her kindness, patience, and approachable nature, Nicole takes pride in connecting with others and offering steady, thoughtful support. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she enjoys helping people from all backgrounds feel comfortable and cared for.
