Stephanie Lopez-Nino (she/her/hers) is a Bilingual mental health provider born and raised in Oregon. Over the last seven years, she has worked with children, families, and individuals in a variety of settings such as child welfare, early head start, research, and health centers in Oregon. Stephanie has professional experience working with the following concerns: relationships, parenting, depression, anxiety, abuse, and trauma.

Stephanie attained her Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree from George Fox University in 2017 and graduated with a Master’s of Social Work from Portland State University in 2023. Her passion for improving mental health outcomes, especially for people of marginalized communities (Latinx, Black, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and more), pushes her to continue learning and honing her skills to provide quality mental health care to all her patients.

Stephanie’s approach to mental health integrates Strengths-Based and Trauma Informed practices. Additionally, she bases her work on the Liberation Health Model, Systems Theory, and Family Systems Theory, which highlight the significant role that political, social, economic, community, and familial factors play in the wellbeing of a person. Additionally, she uses a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to name a few. Stephanie is also working on her certification for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Stephanie looks forward to working with patients as they initiate or continue their mental health journeys at Barcelona Counseling.
