Lisa Ruth, QMHP​

Lisa is a dedicated, registered Art Therapist who earned her Master’s in Art Therapy Counseling from the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling in Portland, OR. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with experience working with adolescent males and adults in residential treatment, as well as with older adults, offering both traditional talk therapy and Art Therapy.
Lisa specializes in Art Therapy, is certified in EMDR, and values holistic and integrated approaches to mental health treatment. She works collaboratively with you to tailor approaches that best support your goals and treatment. She recognizes the uniqueness and inherent worth of each individual and strongly believes in your capacity to achieve meaningful therapeutic and life outcomes.
Over the years, Lisa has recognized the impact of gaming disorder on adolescents and families. She is passionate about empowering young people and families with resources to address this timely issue, while also exploring and addressing underlying factors that may be interfering in their lives. She practices through a trauma-informed lens, focusing on what matters most to you. Her experience includes working with attachment ruptures, trauma, anxiety, depression, and cognitive distortions. She also welcomes the opportunity to walk alongside you in your healing journey.
Before becoming an Art Therapist, Lisa spent several years as a middle and high school Art teacher, and as an adjunct instructor at an art college. She is a published professional visual artist and musician in the Pacific Northwest, and enjoys creating visual artwork, making music, reading, writing, camping, sailing, hiking, traveling, and volunteering in her spare time. In addition, her personal values and beliefs have served as a strong foundation in bringing the inherent need to create into the Art Therapy space she holds for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Lisa is hold a LMHC from Washington State, an Art Therapist License, and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QHMP) in Oregon. Her supervisor is Ivette Rabanal, LCSW.
