Emily Lucas, QMH-I

Emily is currently working towards a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adler University. She has been working in the field for 5 years, focusing on supporting children, families and adults. Emily is experienced in working in trauma informed care and is committed to learning while also embracing each client’s unique experience. Her years in the mental health field include experience in residential treatment, school-based behavior support, at Head Start aiding families with preschool aged children, and facilitating groups for Violence Intervention.

Emily is oriented within Adlerian theory, which focuses on a holistic view of counseling and healing. She is focused on offering a place to feel safe and accepted to begin the therapeutic process. Reaching goals is rooted in a collaborative relationship with her clients, and Emily hopes to offer tools and strategies that foster growth. With a commitment to embracing people with culturally diverse backgrounds, she encourages all clients to explore their attitudes, beliefs, values and to discuss how they have developed their unique view of the world.

Emily enjoys working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. She works with adults and children of all ages, and looks forward to meeting and having the privilege to work with anyone who is looking to begin a new healing journey.
